Subject: New tire size question 10/25/2009, 5:16 am |

Okay I have 325/65X18's which calculates to 34.65 x 12.8. This is my dealio...even with my bushwacker flares, my footprint is still too wide. I get road trash, water spray, etc. on the side of my truck. It's much less because of the flares but still get it. Can I go to a 35x12.5R18 instead? Will they clear? A little less than 1/2" taller, but 0.3 inches narrower. Anyone running this size. TIA!

how much of a lift do you have?
your tires should rub already right?
and how much have you lost in your turning radius? I have 315/65/20's and I rub but I'm only and 8" wide rim oh and is the spray all the way up the side of the truck or does it originate from the tiny gap between the bottom of the flare and the top of the running board ?

It all depends on what size lift you have, the width of your wheel and the backspacing on your wheel

I'm going to start the pricing search tomorrow and go look at some treads in person. It really helped seeing them on the rides today.

I have a front leveling kit. I don't rub except @ full turn. I will look @ my spray lines though, you may be right about it coming from that space.

I've got the same problem with the spray you have to lose the front mud flaps when you go with the bushwackers
I'm gonna check and see if there's a way to modify the mud flaps but not sure how its gonna look

Oh yeah I have OEM fender flares and mud flaps are still on the rig. No spray issues. We'll see what happens after lifting....
