This is more of a suspension topic. I'd go for whichever is cheaper. They both do the same thing and are of about the same quality. The TRD one is red and I guess you could just paint the Hellwig red to if you would like to.

The Helwig is adjustable meaning if you raise or lower your ride you can adjust the bar accordingly. I also believe that you can tweak the firmness of your settings. With the TRD bar is not adjustable, you can buy some different links if you lower your truck but I don't recall anything available if you lift.

Ok, T is slow and lazy to research....everyone's always talking about sway bars, but what do they really do? Is it worth the cost? Definitely NOT getting one right now but curious what the big deal is with them. Also moving to suspension section.....

Also moving to suspension section..... I agree with you Tee. I had one on my 01 and wound up taking it off. On a short steep drive way entrance it would break your neck from the rocking of the truck. The only reason I see a need for one is if you want your truck to try and stay level at all times or you have a cabover camper, loaded bed rack or something like a tall load that would make the truck lean when turning. They are not usually recommended for off road use as they limit the articulation of the suspension, they do make some for use on 4X4 that have the quick disconnects. Their basic purpose is to limit body roll in cornering situations or like lzguy said if you have extra weight in the rear that add to bory roll in turns.

Thank you both for the quick and dirty. At least now I feel better knowing I don't need to think about getting one.

just felt like adding this. it would be great for lowered trucks. especially if your wheels are close to touching the fenderwells. helps in cornering, too. i know most of you havent gotten on an interchange just to see how fast you can take it. but these trucks for some odd reason handle pretty well. my wide tires would have something to do with that. back to what i was saying i will definitely be picking up the adjustable one after i get my drop.

Agree w/Vic - for a big azz truck, they can hold their own in a good turn. I always test my vehicles for body roll in those situations. Tundra has hit a nice 30 MPH curve at 65 with no issues.

let me see i have hit a couple quite fast ill name a few 610westbound to 45southbound took it at about 80 or 90. 59northbound to 45southbound that one says 35 but i can do it at 75 without pushing it. now what i consider pushing it is tires screeching. allen parkway exit on 45north sucks been trying to do it at 35 but i keep hitting the brakes. but i do notice significant body roll. i drove a dropped del sol so my truck feels like its on 2 wheels compared to a car that had a lower center of gravity with little to no body roll.
