Daniel, I'd LOVE to tackle this bro but I'm also in retail but work FT and barely have enough time to get my own shit done.

do you just not know HOW to do it?

also... why are you wanting to run an amp for the speakers? your stock HU should give them enough juice

Ben you are crazy..... Any aftermarket speaker will sound like crap on a factory unit. A factory stereo puts out aobut 22 RMS thats it. In fact you can actually blow a speaker under powering it than over powering it. D if you can hold out till the feb mod meet I can hook you up. But pretty busy for now on the weekends. This install is going to take about 2 hours with two people.

Your also going to need another set of RCAs. You have to have 2 sets.. But you dont need the metra toyota wire harness until you go after market head unit.

I don't know how to really install them, If it were just speakers by themselves I could do it piece of cake but the fact I'm powering them with an amp is what gets me. Up until I was browsing for car audio I had NO idea what I was doing. Searching around and reading I got up to par a bit but theres still alot I don't know. Thats why I need help.

and I knew that just replacing my speakers wouldn't do much because I needed something to power them and the stock Head units are weak, but I wanted to keep the stock head unit. If I were going to I'd want to get a touch screen cause anything else in our trucks looks retarded but it didn't make sense to get a gps headunit if I already have a gps, I'm never in my truck long enough to watch a movie in it, and didn't make sense to go from a 6cd changer, to a single cd. So I thought I would just get an amp to power them up, and some rca converters so I could connect the amp to the Headunit. To keep it clean and all, plus if somebody looks inside my truck there isn't anything out that will make them want to break into my truck.

I could wait, but I'm sure I'll find somebody by then. Thanks anyways though, I really appreciate it.

I actually have two sets of RCAs already just didn't make it clear in the OP. The wire harness I got for like 50cents so I just bought it anyways. If I need it good, if I don't no big deal.

I'm still not too certain adding an amp to the head unit is going to help much or be worth the investment cost, but I'm no expert. I'm pulling it out factory even if it's just a single CD unit replacement. I've had the same 6 CDs loaded since August when I brought the truck back to TX and don't even listen to them b/c I run an MP3 player through audio input. You're prob fine just changing the speakers for now and save the amp for simple subs to get crisper bass. At least part of your install will be done if you do decide to go with an amp for factory setup. Good luck and keep us posted, as always.

Adding an amp to power the speakers is going to help alot. I know its going to help, I've seen it, and heard it.
If all I do is change the speakers it won't do anything. I'd be better off keeping it stock.
I don't know much about car audio but I know what I'm installing is going to work and be loud. I'm just looking for help to install it.

As soon as I get it installed I'll post a video of how it sounds with the headunit.
