Can I take TPMS off current aluminum stockers and have them installed onto alloy stockers? I have no idea how those things work but assume it should be okay considering they are Toyota rims of the same size.

Tamera, all TPMS sensors for our Tundras are 40 degree sensors except for the styled steel wheels which are 20 degree sensors. Even then, like me, you can have discount tire install their adaptor kit if you need to. It's a hell of alot cheaper than buying new sensors and having the dealer swap it out for you.

Argh well I think I'll have to get the adapter but remember I'm back in pay out the arse for everything California and Discount isn't out here, unfortunately. Thanks for the responses. In the end it's still cheaper for the time being!

Like the other members said, your stock sensors should transfer over with no problems. If for some reason they don't, we do have after market bands and brackets that fit any wheel/sensor.
We do have stores in your area BTW. America's Tire is actually owned by Discount Tire Co. We changed our name in parts of California and Oregon so people would not confuse us with Discount Tire Centers. We have no affiliation with Discount Tire Centers.

WOW! Thanks for passing that information along, Matt. Only bad part is I've already gone through 4Wheel just this morning but the Discount Tire in my area also gave me the highest quote for the package I wanted and not even with the higher rated brand tire either. But I've always been satisfied with their customer service.

No sweat but for future reference, our local stores are very good about price matching local competitors as well as online retailers. Here at Discount Tire Direct, we do guarantee the lowest delivered price on all the products we carry. If a competitor has a cheaper delivered price, we'll beat it!
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

How exactly do the adapters work? I'm almost positive I'll need to get this done going from steel to aluminum.

Tee you should be fine the tpms are basically just a valve stem you shouldn't need any adapters, but if you do, when you go to get'em mounted make them install everything you need

The aftermarket bands and brackets are similar to the Ford banded sensor setup pictured below.
The finished installation looks similar to this:

It's something about the angle of the stem from steel vs. aluminum, like Brad said in an earlier post. That was one of the issues this morning but they would have tested one first. Here's to hoping!!
